If you thought Corvettes were just for cruising down the boulevard, the 2025 Corvette ZR1 is here to blow your socks off—and maybe even your tires, if you’re not careful. With a top speed of 233 mph, a 0-60 time of 2.3 seconds, and a jaw-dropping 1,064 horsepower, this speed demon is rewriting the performance rulebook for cars under $1 million. Yes, you read that right: a Corvette just became the superhero of supercars, and it’s not even wearing a cape (unless carbon fiber counts).

Breaking News from Detroit

Chevrolet decided to drop this bombshell right before the Detroit Auto Show, where gearheads and automakers alike will gather to critique, and probably drool over the latest in automotive engineering. While General Motors’ other brands—Cadillac, GMC, and Buick—are tagging along, it’s safe to say the ZR1 is stealing the spotlight.

Orders for this beast open in mid-February, with prices starting at $174,995 for the 1LZ coupe. If you prefer your speed with a side of wind in your hair, the 1LZ hardtop convertible starts at $184,995.

What You Get for the Price of a House

Each 2025 ZR1 is packed with enough goodies to make any car enthusiast giddy:

- A hand-assembled 1,064 hp twin-turbo V8 that probably roars louder than your neighbor’s leaf blower.

- A visible carbon fiber roof, because why hide the cool stuff?

- Carbon ceramic brakes, which you’ll need when your top speed is 233 mph.

- A Performance Data Recorder to document all your "responsible" driving habits.

- Enough carbon fiber ground effects and side intakes to make it look like it’s ready for a Le Mans race

Scott Bell, VP of Global Chevrolet, summed it up best: “ZR1 is where design and engineering meet to push boundaries.” Translation: “We made it ridiculously fast and still somehow affordable (sort of).”

5.5L, twin-turbocharged LT7 DOHC flat-plane crank V8 engine 1,064 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 828 lb-ft of torque at 6,000 rpm

Optional Extras: Because Why Stop at Insanity?

For those who want even more, Chevrolet offers two upgrade packages:

1. ZR1 Carbon Fiber Aero Package ($8,495): Adds a high-downforce rear wing, dive planes, and underbody strakes.

2. ZTK Performance Package ($1,500): Requires the Aero Package and unlocks the ultimate track configuration.

Luxury Meets Ludicrous Speed

The ZR1 comes in two trims:

- 1LZ Trim: Features 8-way power GT1 seats, a 10-speaker Bose sound system, and an HD Rear Vision Camera.

- 3LZ Trim: For an extra $10,000, you’ll get heated and ventilated Napa leather GT2 seats, a leather-wrapped interior, a 14-speaker Bose system, and cameras everywhere to ensure you don’t curb that glorious carbon fiber.

A Quick Recap of the Quickest Corvette

- Engine: 5.5L twin-turbocharged LT7 V8

- Power: 1,064 hp and 828 lb-ft of torque (most powerful V8 ever made in America)
